The WHY

The WHY Blog by Zuzana Rogers

I’ve been a physical therapist for over 15 years now. In that time, I have come to realize that there’s more to helping someone attain their goals than manual therapy, exercise and modalities. As physiotherapists, we have to start with your goals in mind. We need to start with individual goals and work backwards from there. There’s no cookie cutter, one-size-fits-all approach.

There are so many questions that need to be answered to keep us on a path to higher performance.

Is the body able to tolerate the loads needed to perform well? If not, why?

Is it poor movement patterns? A lack of strength? Or maybe mobility?

Poor or inappropriate training?

Is the recovery period inadequate? Are there selective mobility restrictions? Previous injuries that have not yet fully recovered?

Is it nutrition? State of mind? Or something else entirely?

There is so much confusing and conflicting information out there.

That is why I created this site – an outlet to organize information in an easy-to-read way, so you can educate yourself. In today’s healthcare, you are the customer; you should be able to evaluate all of your options.

We are moving towards value-based medicine, folks! And that is a fantastic thing for healthcare consumers.

Here you will find information regarding specific topics related to athletic injuries, treatment and prevention, and also appropriate training recovery and nutritional information. I strive to collect information pertinent to endurance sports because that is my passion. I love helping to keep active people active – for life. I love to see my clients succeed.

So, enjoy! Read on and thank you for visiting. Please send me a comment or question. And know that your question might be one that ten other people share but are afraid to ask!
